It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel “Dan” Scrimes on November 7th 2025 in Chilliwack, BC, at the age of 70. Dan was born on June 6, 1955, in Vancouver and spent most of his adult life in Langley before settling in Chilliwack. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Liz Scrimes; his son, Christopher Scrimes (Brianna); and his daughter, Andrea Conner (Benjamin); as well as three grandchildren, Arthas, Nova, and Fenix. He is also survived by his brother, Brian Scrimes; his sister, Julie Browne; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Bill and Shirley Scrimes. Over the course of his career, Dan worked at Rogers Sugar Refinery from 1979 into the 2000s and was incredibly proud of the work he accomplished there over the years. In his leisure time, he found great joy in fishing and golfing, two pastimes that allowed him to connect with nature and enjoy time with the people he loved. He was also an enthusiastic supporter of both the Seattle Seahawks and the BC Lions. In his later years, he enjoyed playing games on his tablet, reading books, and FaceTiming with his family. A funeral service will be held on November 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 8909 Mary St., Chilliwack, BC. A viewing will be held prior to the service at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Parkinson Society.
